A TV for Men and Women =A Product For No One
Watch the ridiculous commercial:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMlwu0-bBjY
The first time I saw this commercial I didn’t know what it was telling me, the reason why it was so confusing was because it was configured like a movie preview but then told me that Sony was advertising a TV for men and women. I was like, I watch TV with my boyfriend, what are they talking about? As for the bad movie preview with the Mr. Moviephone voice, it was mockingly telling us that design and function can be found in a TV, only it looked just like any other LCD I’ve seen. Unless it was a TV with two screens, side by side, so that two people can watch, I don’t see why they specifically say that it was designed for both men and women in mind. the concepts and the end product (a TV like any other) don’t mesh and they don’t say the same thing. Sony was more than a tad off on this advertising strategy.
Personally I expected much more from Sony, what where they thinking. This commercial just doesn’t do it for me, and it definitely doesn’t make any sense to me. If anyone wants to explain it to me. Please let me know.
* sorry couldn't find ANY articles on the tv, i suppose it was too mediocre to write about
