Nowwhat?
The commercial entailing the women who sassily toss their keys to what seems to be the valet guy, then turn around see the real valet, while the other guy speeds off in their car ends with the words “nowwhat.com”. With no name or company logo in sight, the question isn't so much nowwhat?, but who is this really for? Nowwhat.com also has another commercial where a window air conditioner falls out of a building and onto a car below. These calls to action makes you log on to their website in order to scratch your curiosity itch. As I figured, it was an insurance company, and State Farm, to be exact. Although this may be a good idea to get people thinking and wanting to slueth out who this ad is really for, I think that only a hand full of people would actually go out of their way to look up their site, just purely out of curiosity (and not for a blog assignment). If these audiences go as far as to log on their website, I believe that this ad has done its job successfully.
After a bit of research about this Nowwhat.com campaign, I have found another guy’s story, which is more memorable and is definitely unconventional. From his blog (Mac Rumors: Forum) he says that he’s driving out of San Francisco and he’s driving along a flatbed truck with a car on the back. The car has an air conditioner that has apparently fallen into the windshield. Just as he was wondering why they didn’t remove the air con before driving on the freeway at 70mph, he pulls along side and sees a sign on the hood. It is a big question mark with the “Nowwhat.com” on it. This stunt correlates with the TV commercial and I think, is a pretty memorable attention grabber. The only flaw is that by the end of all that driving back and forth with the car, there will be only a limited amount of people who will see this feat.
